Taiwanese athletes reach WTA semifinals in Memphis and advance in Taipei badminton

At the WTA 250 Memphis Classic in the United States, the Zhu sisters – Zhu Yixuan and Zhu Yicen – broke through to their first career semifinal in a WTA doubles draw, defeating the Indian–Australian pair of Ankita Raina and Astra Sharma 6‑4, 6‑2. Their victory set up a semifinal clash against fellow Taiwanese team Jia Hao‑qing and Maya Joint for a place in the final.

In Taipei, badminton star Lin Xiang‑ti overturned a first‑set loss to beat India's Ashmita Chaliha 16‑21, 21‑14, 21‑15 and move into the round of 16. Seeded second, she will face world‑ranked Anmol Kharb next. Fellow Taiwanese seeds Huang Yuxun and Song Shuoyun also advanced, with Huang dispatching South Korea’s Kim Min‑ji 21‑16, 21‑10 and Song winning a domestic showdown against Liao Yuan‑qi 21‑16, 21‑19, setting up an all‑Taiwanese encounter in the next round.
