Taiwanese athletes win multiple gold medals at World Inline Skating Championships

Taiwanese athletes have achieved significant success at the 2026 World Inline Skating Championships held in Paraguay. In the speed skating discipline, Huang Shih-ting secured a gold medal in the junior women’s slalom event after progressing from first place in the preliminaries to the final.

Taiwan's performance in speed skating has been particularly dominant, with the national team collecting five gold medals in the slalom category. This includes gold medals in the junior women’s, junior men’s, senior women’s, and senior men’s events, as well as a gold medal in the team competition. In the senior men’s slalom, Taiwan swept the gold, silver, and bronze medals.

In the freestyle inline skating competition, Chen Yi-fan won the gold medal in the men’s category. He achieved first place in both the short program and the long program to secure his victory. President Lai Ching-te issued congratulatory messages to the athletes for their outstanding performances.
