Taiwanese baseball: CTBC Brothers chase championship as Pingzhen advances

In Taiwanese baseball, the CTBC Brothers have extended their winning streak to eight games following a 9-8 extra-innings victory against the Fubon Guardians. The win puts the team in a position to potentially activate a magic number of M6 for the second-half championship if they defeat the Rakuten Monkeys in Taoyuan on September 24.

In youth baseball, Pingzhen High School A team advanced to the Taoyuan Cup championship game after a 3-0 victory over Taipei Municipal Da-Li High School. Relief pitcher Lin Hsien played a crucial role, pitching 1.2 scoreless innings with two strikeouts to protect the lead and secure the win for his team.
