Taiwanese cacao and coffee producers advance to international stages

Five winners from the 2026 CoEx Taiwan Cacao Bean Competition have been selected to represent Taiwan at the 2027 Cacao of Excellence Awards world finals. The competition, which evaluated 30 entries based on physical quality and sensory profiles, identified top producers including Mo La Cacao Farm, which secured the gold award.

In the specialty coffee sector, the inaugural Best of Taiwan competition, organized by the Taiwan Coffee Laboratory, has selected 30 winning coffee batches. These winners aim to connect local estates with international markets through professional evaluation and bidding mechanisms. Ziye Coffee has begun introducing select batches from this competition to consumers, featuring beans from various high-quality Taiwanese estates.

Both industries are focusing on professionalizing cultivation and fermentation techniques to elevate Taiwan's presence in the global premium markets for cacao and coffee.
