Taiwanese charities provide Mid-Autumn Festival aid to elderly and vulnerable families

Various charitable initiatives in Taiwan are providing support to vulnerable populations ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

In Kinmen, Taiwu Mountain Haiyin Temple and the Kinmen County Buddhist Dharma Propagation Foundation donated 212 gift boxes to elderly residents living alone. The Kinmen County Government's Social Affairs Department is coordinating the distribution and providing additional assistance, such as home cleaning services, through volunteer teams to ensure seniors feel supported during the holiday.

In Changhua, the Changhua Family Care Association's Yuanlin District Committee organized a mooncake donation drive led by former chairperson Luo Jinzhu. Now in its eighth year, the campaign collected 520 boxes of mooncakes to be distributed to 520 underprivileged households. The initiative, supported by various local community associations and international clubs, aims to provide festive joy and alleviate financial pressure on families through the provision of food and essential supplies.
