Taiwanese cities honor long-term marriage milestones

Local governments in Taiwan held ceremonies to honor long-term marriages, celebrating couples who have reached significant milestones such as golden, diamond, and platinum anniversaries.

In Yuanlin City, the municipal office honored 365 couples. The group included 10 platinum wedding couples (70 years), 92 diamond wedding couples (60 years), and 263 golden wedding couples (50 years). Acting Mayor Lai Chih-fu and Changhua County Magistrate Wang Hui-mei attended the event, which aimed to promote family ethics and respect for the elderly.

In Pingtung City, the municipal office held a ceremony for 19 model couples who have been married for 60 years. Mayor Chou Chia-chi presided over the event, which featured themed photo areas and traditional dances to create a romantic atmosphere for the seniors. The ceremony sought to promote values of family harmony and the importance of long-term marital commitment.
