Taiwanese community initiatives focus on elderly welfare and nutrition

Various community initiatives in Taiwan are focusing on elderly welfare and intergenerational engagement. In Dacun Township, Da-Yeh University organized a nutrition workshop for seniors and students to discuss dietary safety, food texture, and the importance of nutritional adjustments for aging populations.

In New Taipei City, the Lions Clubs International District 300B 2 donated 400 care packages valued at approximately 240,000 TWD to the Social Affairs Bureau to support elderly residents living alone. These packages are designed to be easily heated and consumed, promoting healthy eating within the community.

Meanwhile, the Kaohsiung Veterans Home hosted several events, including an intergenerational parade involving children from its affiliated nursery and elderly residents. The facility also conducted health and wellness courses, featuring meditation, muscle training, and physical exercises to encourage active aging among its residents.
