Taiwanese counties offer free sports facilities for National Sports Day

In observance of National Sports Day on September 9, local governments in Hualien and Hsinchu counties are offering free access to various sports facilities to promote healthy lifestyles.

Hualien County Government has announced that the Xincheng Youth Residential Swimming Pool will be open to the public free of charge for the entire day. The initiative aims to encourage regular exercise among residents. Officials remind visitors to follow hygiene and safety protocols, such as wearing standard swimwear and swim caps.

In Hsinchu County, 13 different sports venues will be free to use on September 9. These facilities include the Zhubei National Sports Center, Hsinchu County Swimming Pool, Zhudong Community Sports Center, and several tennis, badminton, and skating venues. County officials highlighted significant investments in local sports infrastructure, including the construction of new stadiums and school sports fields, to foster a culture of fitness throughout the region.
