Taiwanese culinary culture showcased in Taitung and Atlanta
Taiwanese culinary culture is being highlighted through two distinct events in Taitung and Atlanta.
In Taitung, the 2026 Taitung Slow Food Festival ‘Night Food Table’ is scheduled for October 24 and 25 at Xinsheng Square. Themed around ‘Taitung’s Nighttime Food Memories,’ the event features local chefs and farmers presenting seasonal ingredients and indigenous flavors. The festival aims to explore the cultural and sustainable aspects of nighttime dining through five themes: food collections, lectures, singing, tableware, and guided tours.
In the United States, the ‘Taiwan Good Food × Mandarin Good Learning’ international lecture tour recently held an event at the Atlanta Overseas Chinese Education Center. Organized by the Gwinnett Taiwan Chamber of Commerce with guidance from the Overseas Community Affairs Council, the event drew nearly 200 attendees. Master chefs Kao Jing-chuan and Tsai Yu-feng demonstrated classic Taiwanese dishes, including salt and pepper chicken, beef noodles, and gua bao, to promote Taiwanese food culture and facilitate cultural exchange.
