Taiwanese delegation departs for Asian Games in Nagoya

The Taiwanese delegation has begun its journey to the upcoming Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan. An initial group of 94 people, including 68 athletes and coaches, departed on September 7 to compete in disciplines such as table tennis, gymnastics, karate, martial arts, mixed martial arts, surfing, cycling, and triathlon.

Basketball star Li Yang arrived in Nagoya ahead of the delegation to support the men's basketball team. Although the team lost to Japan by seven points and did not advance to the semifinals, Li Yang praised the players' fighting spirit.

Among the competing athletes are five individuals sponsored by Bama International, marking a significant milestone for the company's decade-long support of Taiwanese sports. These athletes include karate competitors Zhong Yaqi and Tian Xin'er, judoka Liao Yurong, and swimmers Zhuang Mulun and Liu Weiyin. The delegation is expected to send further groups of athletes on September 18 and 20.
