Taiwanese educational institutions expand international exchange and vocational training

Educational institutions in Taiwan are expanding international exchange programs to enhance students' global perspectives and professional skills.

The New Taipei City Education Bureau reported that 289 elementary and junior high schools have implemented international education curricula. Since 2021, nearly 20,000 students have participated in exchanges through online learning, physical visits, and collaborative courses. Over 9,000 international volunteers and student partners have also visited Taiwan. Notable examples include Bitou Elementary School’s engagement with Genkai Town in Japan, involving both digital communication and in-person cultural experiences. To support these efforts, New Taipei City has invested approximately 23 million TWD over eight years to improve international exchange and teaching spaces in 39 schools.

In the vocational sector, Daojiang Hu-Jia High School led a group of 20 students and teachers to South Korea as part of a youth development fund program. The trip focused on K-Beauty, with students visiting the GPF KOREA International Professional Artists Association. The program provided hands-on training in makeup, hair styling, and skincare to help students understand the global influence of the Korean beauty industry and prepare for international professional standards.
