Taiwanese electronics manufacturers report record Q3 revenue driven by AI servers
Major Taiwanese electronics manufacturers, including Wistron, Quanta, and Inventec, reported record-breaking third-quarter revenues, driven largely by the surging demand for AI servers.
Wistron reported Q3 revenue of 1.15 trillion TWD, representing a 27.42% increase quarter-on-quarter and a 101% increase year-on-year. Its subsidiary, Wiwynn, also saw significant growth, with Q3 revenue rising 62.9% year-on-year.
Quanta Computer achieved a record Q3 revenue of 1.12 trillion TWD, up 125.2% year-on-year. While September revenue saw a monthly decline due to shipment timing, the company expects the next generation Vera Rubin platform to begin small-scale shipments in the fourth quarter, with major projects starting in early 2025.
Other key players also reported strong results: Pegatron's September revenue exceeded 200 billion TWD for the first time, while Inventec and Compal also posted significant quarterly growth. Industry analysts suggest that continuous procurement from major US-based cloud service providers (CSPs) is sustaining the momentum in the server market.
