Taiwanese emergency services win national awards for innovation and skill
Emergency medical services in Taiwan have achieved notable recognition through technological innovation and competitive excellence. The Taichung City Fire Bureau developed a high-fidelity 3D-printed airway training model, which earned a silver award at the second Phoenix Cup Fire Invention and Design Competition organized by the Ministry of the Interior. This locally produced, modular tool aims to replace expensive imported equipment and has been integrated into official rescue training and presented at the AMEE international medical education conference.
In a separate achievement, the Tainan City Fire Bureau secured the championship in the airway intubation category at the 12th National Airway Intubation and CPR Competition. The event featured high-pressure simulations, including complex accident scenes and remote mountain rescue scenarios involving drone-delivered AEDs. Tainan's team demonstrated advanced technical skills in difficult environments, while other local responders also earned multiple awards in CPR and emergency response categories.
