Taiwan launches new tourism subsidies and travel incentives
Taiwan is launching a series of domestic and international tourism incentive programs starting in September 2026. The Taiwan Tourism Administration is introducing subsidies for weekday stays and birthday travel to encourage domestic trips.
In Nantou, the Hotel Association is promoting a “stay two nights” initiative to encourage deeper exploration of local attractions, supported by government subsidies of up to 2,000 TWD for two-night stays. Various hotel groups, including Fuhuang Group and Golden Tulip, are offering additional value-added services such as dining vouchers, room upgrades, and specialized birthday packages to complement government aid.
For international travelers, a new lottery program will begin on October 10, 2026. Frequent visitors to Taiwan who meet specific residency and stay requirements can win travel credits worth up to 5,000 TWD, with additional amounts available for companions. Meanwhile, travel platforms like Klook are offering bundled accommodation and activity packages to facilitate family travel across various regions including Yilan, Hsinchu, and Hualien.
