Taiwanese local governments receive awards for elderly care innovation

At the 7th Taipei International Care Expo, local governments in Taiwan showcased innovative approaches to managing an aging society. New Taipei City’s ‘Silver Club Pre-training Class’ received the City Care Model Award in the LOHAS category. This initiative focuses on bringing elderly services directly to apartment buildings by collaborating with management committees, allowing seniors to participate in health and social activities just by going downstairs.

Pingtung County also received the City Care Model Award (Benchmark for Aging Together) for its ‘Pingtung Good Care’ long-term care innovation projects. The county highlighted its model of integrating government departments and private resources to support elderly autonomy and life rehabilitation.

In Keelung, community care centers held a vitality competition for seniors and volunteers to promote physical health and social interaction through various games and challenges.
