Taiwanese pomelo producers expand markets through exports and urban promotions

Agricultural regions in Taiwan are actively promoting their seasonal pomelo harvests through international exports, luxury culinary collaborations, and urban marketing events.

In Yilan County, the Dongshan Red Pomelo has successfully expanded its market reach, recently exporting 8 tons to Singapore's NTUC FairPrice supermarkets. To enhance domestic brand value, the Yilan County Government and Dongshan Township Farmers' Association have partnered with Jiaoxi Laogye Hotel to offer a limited-time menu featuring five specialized dishes incorporating the fruit, ranging from savory soups to desserts.

Simultaneously, Hualien County is focusing on urban consumer engagement. The Hualien County Government and local farmers' associations organized a three-day promotional event at Taipei's Hope Plaza. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between rural producers and urban consumers by providing fresh produce, tasting experiences, and direct interaction with farmers to build brand trust and support local livelihoods during the peak harvest season.
