Taiwanese tech and manufacturing sectors expand via smart city and international trade expos

Taiwanese industrial and technological sectors are expanding their international and domestic presence through major exhibitions. In Kaohsiung, the 6th Kaohsiung Smart City Expo is scheduled for March 18–20, 2027. Organized by the Kaohsiung City Government, the Taiwan Smart City Industry Alliance, and the Taipei Computer Association, the event focuses on digital and green transitions, specifically targeting sovereign AI, smart healthcare, low-carbon transportation, and net-zero technology.

On the international stage, the Ministry of Economic Affairs organized a Taiwan Flagship Pavilion at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in Chicago. Featuring 56 Taiwanese companies, the pavilion focused on aerospace and semiconductor applications. The initiative aimed to help businesses capitalize on US manufacturing upgrades and supply chain restructuring, successfully facilitating approximately $51.8 million in business opportunities during the event.
