Taiwanese telecom giants report August revenue and profit growth
Taiwan’s three major telecommunications providers reported growth in August revenue and profits.
Chunghwa Telecom saw its revenue rise by 25.6% to 23.31 billion TWD, with net profit reaching 4.44 billion TWD. The company reported record highs for revenue, net profit, EBITDA, and earnings per share (EPS). Growth was driven by a 100% increase in ICT revenue, supported by large-scale data center and cloud construction, as well as AI supply chain demand for international circuits.
Taiwan Mobile reported an 8% increase in revenue to 16.78 billion TWD, with net profit rising 10% to 1.39 billion TWD. The company benefited from strong iPhone sales and increased demand for AI and cybersecurity solutions in its enterprise business.
Far EasTone recorded its highest monthly revenue, EBITDA, and net profit to date, with revenue increasing 15.7% to 9.547 billion TWD. The company attributed this to 5G upgrades, mobile service growth, and enterprise ICT projects. As of August, 5G penetration among monthly subscription users reached 49.8%.
