Taiwanese tourist rescued from Mount Fuji summit after fainting

A 57‑year‑old Taiwanese woman was climbing Mount Fuji with two sisters when she lost consciousness while resting at the summit on 26 July. Staff at the mountain hut called emergency services and a Japanese police mountain‑rescue team arrived to assist.

Rescuers evacuated her with a tracked bulldozer to the fifth‑station base and then transferred her by ambulance to a hospital. Her medical condition was not released. Japanese authorities reminded climbers to verify health status, equipment and weather before attempting the ascent.
