Taiwan’s Taitung and Taoyuan host free summer music events on Aug 1

On August 1, Taitung County continued its ninth‑year “most beautiful starry sky” series with a free outdoor concert at Ba Xian Cave in Changbin Township. The event, running from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., featured the Echo Band and the local indigenous group Forced Voice, blending music with the coastal night sky and sea breezes.

The same day, singer‑songwriter Lu Guang‑zhong performed at the Pearl International Main Stage in Taoyuan’s fishing port, joining a lineup that includes Malaysian band babychair and other acts. Lu promised a “scented” show and highlighted his excitement at playing the Pearl Coast for the first time.

Both concerts are open to the public, aim to promote tourism and local culture, and showcase Taiwan’s low‑light‑pollution coastal venues.
