Taiwo Awoniyi to join Coventry City from Nottingham Forest

Coventry City has reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest to sign Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi on a permanent transfer. The 29-year-old forward is currently undergoing a medical examination to finalize the move.

Awoniyi, who joined Nottingham Forest from Union Berlin in 2022, is expected to provide additional attacking options for Coventry City manager Frank Lampard. The transfer will reunite him with Nigerian international teammate Frank Onyeka. During his time at Nottingham Forest, Awoniyi made 17 league appearances and scored four goals last season, but he had fallen behind other players in the club's attacking rotation.
