Taizé community leads youth Pentecost reflections at Gniezno Cathedral

Brother Matthew of the Taizé community addressed Polish youth during an evening prayer service at Gniezno Cathedral, urging them to keep their hearts open to the Holy Spirit. He reflected on the Pentecost narrative in the Acts of the Apostles, noting that “Łukasz chce nam powiedzieć, że żadne zwyczajne ani racjonalne wyjaśnienie nie jest w stanie w pełni wytłumaczyć narodzin Kościoła.” He warned that rational explanations can quickly turn into mockery, quoting, “Niektórzy próbują znaleźć racjonalne wyjaśnienie, lecz racjonalność szybko przeradza się w drwinę.”

The gathering precedes the commemorative XXX National Youth Meetings at Polach Lednickich on 6 June. A Dawn Prayer service in Gniezno Cathedral, led by Primate Archbishop Wojciech Polak and priest Tomasz Nowak, will precede the main event. The youth meeting’s theme is “Genesis,” emphasizing a new beginning for participants from the Archdiocese of Gniezno and across Poland.
