Taiz family threatened by armed men at Highland Park

A family outing at Highland Park in Taiz, Yemen, escalated into a dangerous confrontation involving armed individuals. The incident began when a two-year-old child sustained a serious injury near his eye after being struck by a swing chain pushed by a 14-year-old girl.

When the child's mother attempted to address the incident with the girl's mother, the situation deteriorated into a heated verbal altercation. According to the victim's mother, the confrontation escalated further when armed men were summoned to the recreational area. As the family attempted to leave the park, they encountered the girl's father stationed near the ticket window accompanied by several armed individuals.

The victim's family has issued an urgent appeal to security authorities in Taiz, calling for a transparent investigation and demanding stricter regulations regarding the carrying and display of weapons within family recreational spaces to prevent future intimidation.
