Taiz workshop concludes training for community mediators

A training workshop focused on building the capacity of community mediators and wives of neighborhood leaders in conflict resolution skills concluded in Taiz, Yemen. The program was organized by the Justice for Rights and Development Organization (JRDO) in partnership with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES) Yemen office.

The initiative aimed to empower community mediators, female lawyers, female police officers, and other local figures with mediation tools and scientific conflict analysis. The goal is to promote civil peace and social cohesion while reducing the burden on judicial and security services by resolving disputes through peaceful means.

During the closing ceremony, JRDO President Nabil Sharyan and FES Program Director Dr. Mahmoud Qiyah emphasized the importance of local mediation in preventing conflict and building peace. Colonel Samir Al-Ashbat of the Taiz Police also highlighted the necessity of institutional integration between official security apparatuses and community committees to stabilize security dimensions.
