Taj Hotels and Prabha Khaitan Foundation Launch Inclusive Training Program in Kolkata
On July 28, Taj Hotels (The Indian Hotels Company Limited) and the Prabha Khaitan Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding at Taj Bengal in Kolkata to expand Project Prayas, a social‑inclusion initiative for children and young adults with special needs. The agreement, supported by Shree Cement Limited, will place participants at the front desks of all Taj Hotels in the city, giving them real‑world hospitality experience and training in confidence, communication and workplace readiness.
Senior Vice President K Mohanchandran said the partnership aligns with IHCL’s ESG+ framework, Paathya, which aims to train 100,000 youth by 2030. Chief Guest Suhel Seth called the MoU “a watershed moment” for inclusive opportunity in India, emphasizing the role of institutions in empowering special‑needs youth.
The initiative reflects a broader corporate push toward social responsibility and inclusive employment within the Indian hospitality sector.
