Tajikistan expands scientific cooperation with COMSTECH and United Nations

On July 29, 2026 Tajikistan’s ambassador to Pakistan, Yusuf Sharifzoda, met with COMSTECH coordinator Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary in Islamabad. The two sides reviewed existing scientific and technological collaboration under the OIC framework and pledged to broaden joint research programmes, researcher and student exchanges, training courses and conferences, emphasizing the role of such cooperation in the sustainable development of OIC member states.

A day later, Tajikistan’s foreign minister, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, met United Nations Resident Coordinator Kavilmadam Ramaswami Parvathy in Dushanbe. They discussed the status of ongoing UN‑funded projects and explored ways to extend partnership across a wide range of sectors, reaffirming a shared commitment to advancing the country’s socio‑economic development and the Sustainable Development Goals.
