Tak Matsumoto to appear on NHK ‘SONGS’ with supergroup TMG

Tak Matsumoto, guitarist for B’z, is preparing for several high-profile media appearances alongside his supergroup TMG (Tak Matsumoto Group). TMG, which features Eric Martin, Jack Blades, and Matt Sorum, is scheduled to release its third album, ‘TMG III SAYONARA’, on October 14, 2026.

On the NHK program ‘SONGS’, Matsumoto will perform three songs with TMG, including a Beatles cover, ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’, and ‘SAYONARA’, a collaboration featuring Ado. The broadcast will also feature rare footage of Matsumoto performing 38 years ago as a support guitarist for TM Network during the Kohaku Uta Gassen.

Additionally, Matsumoto is set to appear on the program ‘Nichiyobi no Hatsumimi Gaku’ on October 11, where he is expected to discuss the creation of the B’z hit ‘ultra soul’ and his early career experiences.
