Takaaki Nakagami withdraws from Motegi MotoGP with fractured clavicle

Japanese rider Takaaki Nakagami has been forced to withdraw from the MotoGP Grand Prix in Motegi following a heavy crash during the first free practice session (FP1). The accident occurred at Turn 11 due to treacherous track conditions caused by recent rain, resulting in a highside crash that left Nakagami with a fractured left clavicle.

HRC team principal Alberto Puig stated that Nakagami will require surgery and an estimated four to five weeks of rehabilitation, provided the procedure is successful. The injury is particularly impactful for Honda, as it complicates their rider lineup for the upcoming Indonesian GP and potentially disrupts the development of their 850cc prototype for the 2027 season.
