Takaichi Cabinet approval ratings show divergence in recent polls

Recent public opinion polls regarding the Takaichi Cabinet have shown divergent results across different media outlets. A JNN survey conducted on September 5 and 6, 2026, reported a 3.3 percentage point increase in approval, bringing the cabinet's support to 62.5%. Conversely, the number of respondents stating they do not support the cabinet fell by 2.7 points to 34.9%.

Discrepancies in polling data have drawn scrutiny. Analysis of previous data shows that while some outlets reported significant shifts, others remained stable. For instance, in August, ANN reported a 6.2 point increase in support, whereas JNN reported a 6.7 point decrease during the same period. Experts note that even when using the same RDD (Random Digit Dialing) method and conducting surveys on the same days, results can vary significantly between organizations, complicating the interpretation of political trends.
