Takara Tomy unveils Dragon Quest collaboration toys at Tokyo Toy Show

Takara Tomy has unveiled new collaboration products featuring the Dragon Quest franchise at the Tokyo Toy Show 2026. The lineup includes the ‘Nigiyaka Sound♪ Slime Kiki Ippatsu’ and ‘Nigiyaka Sound♪ Metal Slime Kiki Ippatsu’, which are themed versions of the classic ‘Blackbeard’ suspense game.

In these versions, players use ‘Erdrick’s Sword’ to poke at barrels, attempting to avoid triggering a Slime or Metal Slime to pop out. The toys feature iconic sound effects from the RPG series, such as the ‘spell’ sounds and the ‘Metal Slime escaped!’ alert. Both items are priced at 3,850 yen and are scheduled for release on October 24, 2026.

Additionally, a ‘Dragon Quest Life Game’ was showcased during a promotional event featuring comedian Eiko Kano, who appeared dressed as a hero. The Life Game allows players to act as adventurers collecting gold and companions to eventually face the Demon Lord Zoma.
