Takara Tomy announces Dragon Quest themed board game

Takara Tomy has announced the release of ‘Dragon Quest The Game of Life’, a collaboration between the popular RPG series and the classic board game. Scheduled for release on October 24, 2026, the game is priced at 7,150 yen.

Players act as adventurers traveling to collect gold, with the winner being the person holding the most gold at the end of the journey. The gameplay features mechanics inspired by the RPG, such as starting as an adventurer and meeting specific conditions to become a hero. Players can also change jobs to a sage at the ‘Darma Temple’.

The game includes various elements from the series, such as ‘Small Medals’ that can be exchanged for ‘Item Cards’, and spaces featuring iconic monsters. The experience concludes with a roulette battle against the Demon Lord Zoma.
