Takatsuki City announces supplementary budget for subsidies and infrastructure
Takatsuki City has finalized a supplementary budget totaling approximately 1.99 billion yen to be presented at the fourth regular city council meeting on August 31, 2026.
Key measures include inflation relief for households with children, specifically providing 5 kilograms of locally produced rice to households with high school students (ages 16 to 18) and those receiving child rearing allowances. The budget also allocates funds to prepare for the free use of municipal buses for elementary school students starting in April 2027.
Other significant allocations include 66 million yen for installing water coolers in municipal elementary and junior high schools to prevent heatstroke, and 400 million yen in debt assumption for the renewal of the Settsu Gorge area, including the Akutagawa Castle ruins. Additional spending covers land acquisition for the Koderaike Library and addressing rising construction costs for the Fuju-ei housing reconstruction.
