Take-Two CEO discusses PC importance for future game releases
Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, has addressed the potential release timeline for Grand Theft Auto VI on PC during the company's annual shareholders meeting. While no specific release date was confirmed, Zelnick noted that the PC platform is becoming increasingly important to the company.
Zelnick explained that the company's general strategy is to release games over time for all platforms with a significant audience. However, he added a caveat that the company could alter this strategy if a platform ceases to be profitable.
Historically, Rockstar Games has prioritized console releases for its major titles. For example, Grand Theft Auto V arrived on PC approximately 18 months after its initial console launch, while Red Dead Redemption 2 saw a gap of about 13 months. Zelnick's comments suggest that the window between console and PC releases could potentially shorten as the importance of the PC market grows.
