The company has utilized Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) subpoenas to seek identifying information from platforms including Discord, Microsoft, X, and YouTube. Specifically, Take-Two has requested a federal court to seal its latest demand for Discord user data to prevent the destruction of evidence and avoid alerting suspects.
In addition to the legal investigation, the anticipation surrounding GTA VI has significantly impacted the gaming hardware market. Following an extended gameplay preview on Netflix, console sales in the United Kingdom saw a notable surge, with PlayStation 5 sales increasing by approximately 33% and Xbox Series X|S sales rising by 34%. This spike in demand has contributed to stock shortages for the PS5 Pro at various retailers.
