Take-Two Interactive sues Microsoft and Discord over GTA VI leaks

Take-Two Interactive has initiated legal action following a massive leak of gameplay footage and map data related to Grand Theft Auto VI. The publisher has filed subpoenas in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, targeting Microsoft and Discord.

The legal requests demand the disclosure of user data to identify the individual responsible for the leaks. This includes account identifiers, registration emails, IP addresses, phone numbers, and device information. Additionally, the subpoenas seek content related to Grand Theft Auto, Rockstar, or the entity known as ‘Cyberleek’ from OneDrive accounts.

The leaks, which included approximately 16 gameplay clips and three map screenshots, showcased various elements such as driving, combat, mini-gameplay, and cinematic sequences. While the leaks caused significant disruption, the focus has shifted toward the digital footprint left by the perpetrator as legal proceedings continue.
