Rockstar Games responds to Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay leaks

Rockstar Games has officially addressed a massive wave of gameplay leaks for Grand Theft Auto VI, describing the breach as “heartbreaking” for the development team. The leaks, attributed to a group known as Cyberleek, have included various clips, including a four-minute prologue featuring the protagonist Lucia Caminos. While Rockstar maintains that the game is “nearly there” and confirmed a release date of November 19, 2026, the leaker has countered this, claiming the leaked build is recent and the game is not yet ready.

In response to the ongoing disruption, parent company Take-Two Interactive has initiated legal action, filing subpoenas against major tech companies including Microsoft, Discord, Google, and X Corp to identify the source of the stolen content. Concurrently, blockchain analysis suggests the leaker may be attempting to monetize the situation through a cryptocurrency project, with approximately $268,000 in transaction fees being moved to various digital wallets and exchanges.

Amidst the controversy, official details have emerged regarding game mechanics. Reports indicate that players can switch between protagonists Jason and Lucia, and that character physicalities—such as muscle mass and weight—will dynamically change based on player actions like diet and exercise. The game is also expected to feature a six-star wanted system and a more grounded, realistic world inspired by Miami and the surrounding Leonida region.
