Takehiro Tomiyasu to miss Crystal Palace Europa League match against Lyon

Crystal Palace defender Takehiro Tomiyasu will miss the upcoming UEFA Europa League match against Lyon due to a calf injury. Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage confirmed Tomiyasu's absence during a pre-match press conference, noting that he will not be available alongside other players including Jean-Philippe Mateta, Dean Henderson, and Ben Chilwell.

Tomiyasu, who joined Crystal Palace this summer, has been sidelined since sustaining a calf injury during a Premier League match against Leeds United on September 20. His absence also prevented him from participating in recent Japan national team activities. Following the match against Lyon, Crystal Palace faces a dense schedule, including upcoming Premier League fixtures against Brighton and Newcastle.
