Takku Wallu Sénégal withdraws from six parliamentary inquiry commissions
The Takku Wallu Sénégal parliamentary group has announced its definitive withdrawal from all six recently established parliamentary inquiry commissions. In an official statement released in Dakar on Friday, October 16, 2026, the opposition group criticized the proceedings as a “media circus” and a “political masquerade.”
The group argued that what should have been a serious and rigorous institutional procedure has been transformed into a theatrical display designed for mass manipulation. They specifically denounced the “theatricalization of the hearings,” claiming the National Assembly has been turned into a “television set broadcasting scenes of bad taste,” which undermines the dignity and solemnity of the parliamentary function.
By withdrawing, Takku Wallu Sénégal stated it refuses to provide legitimacy to what it describes as a “public trial of intent” and “diversionary maneuvers” that detract from the general interest. The group expressed its intention to refocus its efforts exclusively on the actual concerns of the Senegalese population.
