Takoyaki Tako‑Bō and Maruya Honten Expand with New Locations in Japan
The popular street‑food stall "Takoyaki Tako‑Bō" has opened its first permanent shop in front of Yokogawara Station in Higashon, Ehime Prefecture. The store offers standard takoyaki (600 JPY for eight pieces) and a mochi‑filled version (700 JPY). On opening day a giveaway for the first 100 customers included a free pack of eggs.
Restaurant chain Maruya Honten will reopen a branch at Nagoya Station’s underground shopping area MEICHIKA on September 4, 2026. The new outlet will serve the traditional Nagoya dish hotsu‑mabushi, using charcoal‑grilled eel and a secret sauce based on a historic tare soy sauce. An opening‑day campaign with limited‑edition meals and a “fukubukuro” (lucky bag) will be run at its other locations in Aichi Prefecture.
