Taşköprü's 200-year-old Derbederler Hamam to become a public library
The 19th-century Derbederler Hamam in the Taşköprü district of Kastamonu, Turkey, is set to be converted into a public library following the completion of a restoration tender process. The historic bathhouse was allocated by the Taşköprü Municipality to the General Directorate of Libraries under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The restoration project has a contract value of 2,980,000 Turkish Lira and is scheduled to be completed within 365 days. Taşköprü Mayor Hüseyin Arslan stated that the initiative aims to preserve the district's historical and cultural heritage while transforming the structure into a cultural hub for children, youth, and the local community.
