Taksim Sanat hosts “Mutluluk Garanti!” contemporary art exhibition

The “Mutluluk Garanti!” (Happiness Guaranteed!) exhibition has opened at Taksim Sanat in Istanbul, organized by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Kültür AŞ. Curated by Prof. Dr. Marcus Graf with assistant curator Öykü Demirci, the exhibition features 34 works by 24 contemporary artists across painting, photography, and sculpture.

The collection explores themes of happiness, utopia, and the impact of consumer culture on individual desires and dreams. It examines how modern society uses digital tools and advertising to produce images of ideal lives, perfect spaces, and desired futures.

According to curator Marcus Graf, the exhibition is divided into two sections. The first part addresses concepts such as criticism, human relationships, the loss of knowledge, and death. The second part presents the seductive and seemingly accessible side of happiness through synthetic scents, artificial grass, bird sounds, and attractive colors. The exhibition aims to prompt visitors to question whether happiness is an internal state or something to be fulfilled through consumption.
