Takuya Nakajima to retire from Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters

Takuya Nakajima, an infielder for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, has announced his retirement from professional baseball at the end of the current season. The 35-year-old veteran, who joined the team in 2008 as a fifth-round draft pick, has spent his entire 18-year career with the organization.

Nakajima is recognized for his defensive skills, base running, and tactical play, including 206 career stolen bases and 256 sacrifice bunts. His career highlights include winning the stolen base title in 2015, being named to the Best Nine, and playing a key role in the team’s championship victory in 2016.
