Tal Yinon Dardik: Urgent hearing requested for release from detention
Legal representatives for Tal Yinon Dardik have requested an urgent hearing for his release following a prolonged period of administrative detention. Dardik, a farm owner and resident of the Yehuda and Shomron region, is currently on his 36th day of a hunger strike.
Legal aid organization Honenu has criticized Major General Avi Bluth for issuing new administrative orders against Dardik, alleging these orders contradict instructions from Defense Minister Yisrael Katz to resolve the matter through other means. Honenu claims the detention is illegal, noting that a District Court previously ruled a prior order against Dardik was void and unenforceable.
The Yehuda and Shomron District Police prosecution has submitted a response to the request for release. While the prosecution has agreed to Dardik’s release, they have proposed restrictive conditions that Dardik’s attorneys have deemed unacceptable. Magistrates’ Court Judge Amir Shaked is expected to hold an urgent hearing to address the matter.
