Talas Municipality launches new waste management discipline

Talas Municipality has launched a new information and inspection campaign to improve environmental cleanliness and waste management discipline throughout the district. The initiative, led by the Environmental Police and Cleaning Affairs Directorate, aims to prevent irregular waste disposal on streets and avenues.

Since starting on September 1, teams have reached approximately 150 shopkeepers and building attendants. The campaign instructs residents and businesses to dispose of household waste in appropriate bins at designated times rather than using bags. Additionally, waste containers must be moved back to their designated areas after collection to prevent odors, visual pollution, and obstructions to pedestrian and vehicle traffic.

Mayor Mustafa Yalçın emphasized that while municipal teams are active in the field, maintaining a clean city is a shared responsibility. He noted that following collection schedules, using proper containers, and keeping storefronts clean are essential contributions to urban order and making Talas a more livable city.
