Talas Municipality mobile sheep bath service reaches 15,000 animals

Talas Municipality has continued its mobile sheep bath service, which has been operating in rural neighborhoods since 2019. The mobile system allows livestock to be washed with medicated water directly at the producer's location, eliminating the need to transport herds to distant centers.

To date, the service has benefited 15,745 small ruminants. The initiative specifically targets the fight against ticks and external parasites, which often increase during summer months. By protecting animal health, the program aims to prevent livestock losses and improve production efficiency.

Beyond animal welfare, the service serves a public health function by reducing zoonotic risks associated with ticks. Talas Mayor Mustafa Yalçın stated that the municipality remains committed to supporting rural production and ensuring the health of local herds through these ongoing services.
