Talas Municipality opens park named after artist Recep Alemdar

Talas Municipality has officially opened a park named after Recep Alemdar, a local artist recognized for his significant contributions to the cultural and musical heritage of Kayseri. The park is located on Papatya Street in the Mevlana Neighborhood.

During the opening ceremony, Talas Mayor Mustafa Yalçın highlighted Alemdar's role in preserving Kayseri's traditional folk songs, specifically mentioning his works such as “Hunat Mahallesi” and “Geceler.” The proposal to name the park after the artist was unanimously approved by the Municipal Council.

Recep Alemdar expressed his gratitude to the mayor, noting that being honored while still alive was a significant distinction. The event was attended by local political figures, including AK Party Talas District Chairman Mustafa Kiraz, and members of the local arts community.
