Spanish towns launch new theater programs for June and July
The JBL School of Theatre and Cinema in Talavera de la Reina is staging a nine‑day June program. Highlights include a children’s triple‑session and Western on 10 June at Teatro Victoria (tickets €3), a fresh take on Romeo + Julieta on 15 June (€5), an open‑air class presentation “Y el día de ayer” on 18 June, a comedy adaptation of Yasmina Reza’s Arte on 20 June (€10), a homage to Federico García Lorca on 21 June, and a combined tribute to García Lorca and Rafael Alberti on 28 June (€5). All shows run in local venues such as Teatro Victoria, the municipal library amphitheatre, and Sala Carmelo Castilla.
In Torrelaguna, the Casa de la Cultura will host two classic Spanish comedies. On 7 June at 19:20, the absurdist play “Eloísa está debajo de un almendro” by Enrique Jardiel Poncela will be performed, followed by Miguel Mihura’s “Melocotón en almíbar” on 5 July at 20:00. Both productions charge €5 per ticket and aim to reinforce the municipality’s commitment to theatrical culture.
