Talca Municipal Veterinary Center reaches 110,000 services

The Talca Municipal Veterinary Center in Chile has reached a milestone of over 110,000 medical services provided to cats and dogs during its first two years of operation. Between August 2024 and August 2026, the facility recorded 110,687 clinical services, including 52,456 canine and 48,225 feline consultations, alongside 10,006 surgeries.

Mayor Juan Carlos Díaz Avendaño stated that the center was created to meet community needs and has become a fundamental service for local families, promoting responsible pet ownership. The center offers various services including health checks, emergencies, sterilizations, and surgical cleaning.

In related veterinary developments, the tenth 'Cats in Chile' Feline Medicine Congress addressed methods to reduce stress in cats during clinical visits. Specialist Dr. Enzo Roubaud emphasized that stress management should begin at home through environmental enrichment and gradual habituation to transport carriers to improve the quality of veterinary care.
