Talca: Young man struck by Teletón train

A 21-year-old man was struck by the Teletón train in Talca, Chile, on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred around 5:05 PM in the Villa Ilusión sector, near the city's railway station and behind the Centro Regional de Abastecimiento (CREA).

The train, which was part of the Teletón tour transporting artists and staff for a solidarity show, was traveling at low speed due to its proximity to the station when the accident happened. Preliminary reports from Carabineros suggest the young man, who may be experiencing homelessness, entered the tracks unexpectedly.

Emergency services, including SAMU and Carabineros, attended the scene. The victim sustained only minor injuries and was able to leave the site while receiving medical attention. Specialized police personnel are investigating the exact circumstances of the event.
