Talensi District residents participate in National Sanitation Day

Residents of the Talensi District participated in the monthly National Sanitation Day exercise, focusing on cleaning the Tongo township, including the market and lorry park. The initiative involved cleaning gutters, cutting weeds, and waste disposal.

District Chief Executive John Millim Nabwomya and Upper East Regional Minister Donatus Akamugri Atanga participated in the efforts. The Minister emphasized that maintaining cleanliness is a civic responsibility and a matter of patriotism. He also reaffirmed government support for water and sanitation logistics in the district.

The exercise saw participation from security services and students from Bolgatanga Senior High School. Similar cleaning activities were conducted simultaneously in Pwalugu, Datuko, and Nungu to promote a disease-free community throughout the district.
